I'm Phil Petersen, the leader of the Keenagers Sunday School group. We're all 50+ years old and have a variety of backgrounds, interests, and spiritual experiences.
My idea of an ideal Sunday school class is one in which everyone shares what a given verse or set of verses mean to them. I do not like to stand at the front of the room and lecture to the group. As I've told my class before, "I know what this verse means to me; I don't know what it means to you." and I am interested in knowing what it means to others. It is an educational process for me to find out what others see in a given verse or lesson. Although there will be several differing interpretations, the "core" meaning of the verse or lesson is the same for everyone. The minor differences come from the personal experiences we all have had in our life and walk with Christ.
Please feel free to visit our class for a few weeks. I think you will enjoy the class.
